Meet Cara
Cara Benge, M.S., CCC-SLP is a speech language pathologist. She is a member of l’ordre des orthophonistes et audiologistes du Quebéc (OOAQ) and is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). She is originally from the US where she obtained her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Vermont in 2015. She gained experience working with people across the lifespan, starting at an inclusive developmental preschool and then transitioning to an outpatient neurorehabilitation clinic. She has experience working with adolescents and adults with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and concussion. She also participated in a day program that helps individuals with brain injury engage in their community.
Since moving to Montreal, she has returned to working with children in the private sector. She has experience with developmental language disorders, articulation, childhood apraxia of speech, tongue thrust, literacy skills, executive functioning skills, disfluency, and autism spectrum disorder. She provides services in English.
Cara has a calm presence and provides a comforting environment for those that she works with.
